Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of financial literacy on the financial planning of students at STIM Lasharan Jaya Makassar. Financial literacy is an essential factor in shaping students' ability to manage their finances effectively, especially during their transition toward financial independence. Using a quantitative approach, this research employed a survey method with a structured questionnaire distributed to 96 student respondents. The data were analyzed using linear regression with SPSS 23.

The findings indicate that financial literacy has a positive and significant influence on financial planning, with a regression coefficient of 0.360 and a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). This result suggests that students with higher levels of financial literacy are better equipped to create and implement effective financial plans. The results also highlight the importance of financial literacy in fostering responsible financial behavior among students.  This study provides practical implications for educational institutions to develop structured financial literacy programs to enhance students' financial skills. Furthermore, the findings suggest the need for policymakers to integrate financial literacy into higher education curricula. Future research is recommended to explore additional variables, such as income levels, social support, or lifestyle factors, to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the determinants of financial planning among students.
