This research analyzes the contribution of the agricultural sector to the economy in Gowa Regency and the problems of developing the agricultural sector. The analysis technique used is qualitative analysis with a case study method. The results of the analysis show that (1) The contribution of the agricultural sector shows a downward trend to the economy of Gowa Regency, (2) The main obstacles faced in the development of the agricultural sector in Gowa Regency are land conversion, and farmer regeneration, (3) The role of government policies in supporting the development of the agricultural sector in Gowa Regency is in the form of agricultural subsidies, counseling & training, agricultural infrastructure development, access to finance, market price control and research & innovation.
