The background of this study is the issue of education quality in Indonesia that still has not met expectations, evident from the many graduates of formal education who are not meeting the needs of the workforce. The purpose of this study is to explore the process of managing leadership style to enhance employee performance in the education department. The method used is quantitative analysis with SPSS version 23, and the data analysis technique is multiple linear regression. This is done to prove the real influence of leadership style on employee performance. From 154 individuals sampled, the results show a positive and significant influence of leadership style on employee performance in the Education Department. The coefficient of determination (R²) is 0.054, which means that the authoritarian leadership style contributes 58.7% to employee performance, with the rest influenced by other factors. The results of this study have important implications for improving employee performance, especially at the Office of the Education Department of South Sulawesi Province.
